Is Difficulty In Straightening Arm Normal While Having Bone Bruise?

My son, age 6 fell 1 week ago Thurdsay, landing his full boy weight of 70 pounds on his left arm. Er Doctors said no break just bone bruise. However is he still unable to straighten his arm/elbow, without pain. Is this normal with a dx of a bone bruise?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi, your child fall 1 week back and there was no fracture but just a bone bruise, and he is not able to fully extend the arm at elbow region. Actually, whenever there is a trauma, the muscles and ligaments beneath the skin might get injured and it takes upto 3 weeks to get completely healed. It's good that your child doesn't have fracture of bone. I think that you should wait for 2 more weeks and till then apply local anesthetic gel or spray at the affected area. I hope this will help you. Take care.
