Is Discomfort In The Stomach Normal After Appendix Removal?
Hi there, I had my appendix removed 5 days ago. I came home from the hospital two days after the surgery. Ever since returning home it feels like things are almost unraveling on my right side. Is this normal? I ve been walking a lot. Lots of water. Having regular BMs. I am taking a mix of tylonel and advil every 4-6 hours. I didn t take much pain meds as I am breastfeeding. Thank you.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted your history of appendectomy 5 days ago, are breast feeding the baby hence no painkiller taken, sent home after 2 days, walking a lot, feeling like things are almost unraveling on your right side... This is not normal. I think of the following: Walk less, this is for avoiding the deep vein thrombosis. Take more liquids, avoid diet at the moment, go slow. Continue antibiotics as are needed in some cases. If no relief have a consultation of the operating Surgeon to have clinical evaluation and investigations and further management if required.
