Is Discontinuing Trimethoprim After Taking Three Doses Safe For Cystitis Treatment?
Hi, yesterday I had cystitis. The doctor gave me Trimethoprim and I have taken 3 doses so far. I feel much better already and don t want to take antibiotics un-necessarily, especially as I am having an endoscopy tomorrow to check for stomach ulcers. Can you recommend?
Good Day and thank you for being with Healthcare Magic!
I would strongly urge you to continue the antibiotics as prescribed since incomplete treatment of your infection might lead to resistant strains and rendering the usual antibiotics useless for your next infection . Stopping your antibiotic would produce more harm than good for your body.
