Is Doing Cataract Surgery Followed By Evaluation For Macular Degeneration Right Step?
My mother has been diagnosed as macular degeneration and also cataract in both eyes more in left eye at minto eye hospital. There doctors told that we will do cataract surgery first then evaluate for macular degeneration becoz cataract is obscuring the retinal visualisation in OCT and FFA.But i m not satisfied there and need a further consultation at specialised eye hospital.what should i do....
I reviewed your history. It seems from the history that your mother is having age related macular degeneration and cataract. She can undergo cataract surgery first as advised by doctors at Minto eye hospital. Later once the view of the retina is clear she can undergo treatment for macular degeneration based on the investigations like FFA and OCT.
If you want you can always take a second opinion from some other ophthalmologist at another eye hospital.
Thank you With regards
