Is Drowsiness, Vomiting And Sickness Normal After Tooth Removal?
hi our son has just been to the dentist he should have had 4 teeth pulled but they only did one has he was in that much pain! he got home at 9:44am 5 minutes later his eyes went to the back of his head and he passed out hes then been sick and is very drowsey is this normal after having a tooth pulled?
Drowsiness is a symptom you can notice immediately after an extraction. But shouldnt be more than a few hours post extraction. Get him checked once more and ask for the numbness is it still present after the procedure. Can be due to the medications or few drugs used to anesthetize a patient.
Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query. The drowsiness can occur after or while doing extraction secondary to change in blood pressure(hypotension and syncope) but it is transient. After the procedure, there will not be any drowsiness. The vomitting can be secondary to the antibiotics and analgesics prescribed after extraction, that causes gastric irritation and may result in vomiting and stomach upset. Consult a oral maxillofacial surgeon and general physician and get yourself examined to rule out other medical conditions. I hope my answer will help you, take care.
