Is Duphaston Drug Safe During Early Pregnancy?

Hi Doc, i am about 8 weeks gone and i have been having menstrual like cramping but no spotting and not severe it only comes and goes away and my doctor prescribed Duphaston drugs (1 daily) for me. After reading some articles on the net, i am a bit confused though i read some good and bad side of it. Please advise me is it very safe in an early pregnancy. I shall be awaiting your response asap. Thanks

I really appreciate your concern, look as long as the pregnancy is concern no drug is safe particularly in early phase of gestational period because in this phase the organogenesis (formation of internal and external organs) taking place and taking any drug could cause any bad effect on fetus, so it is strongly advise to avoid taking the drug during the pregnancy, hope this information helps you, have nice day.
