Is Eating Concentrated Broccoli Safe While Having Hypothyroidism?

Hi, may I answer your health queries right now ? Please type your query here...I was given Liver G.I. Detox by a doctor and I noticed one of the ingredients is brocolli sprout concentrate. I also have a low T3 free and T3 total (hypothyroidism?) and was told not to eat raw brocolli. Would the concentrated form be OK for me to take?

Noted your question.
There is no clear evidence that Broccoli or cabbage will have any effect on hypothyroidism. This is an age old advice given by many doctors to avoid cabbage and broccoli. However, it has no strong basis. In already established hypothyroidfism and if you are on thyroxine replacement, it doesn't matter if you eat broccoli concentrate. Kindly refer to patient advice section by MAYO clinic, USA regarding Hypothyroidism diet.
