Is Esophagus Motility Test Needed For Esophageal Disease?
I am 58 years old woman. My weight is 58 kgs.I have gone through indoscopy &the result is Esophagus : Grade B Reflux changes seen. Now the Doctor asked me for Esophagus Motality test. May I go for that test? Why that Motality test is needed? & What diagnosis will come from that test?

Esophageal motility test will assess upper and lower Esophageal sphincter tone
This investigation done mainly to diagnose Esophageal motility disorder like achalasia, Esophageal spasm etc...
For acid reflux usually this test is not done and endoscopy more beneficial
For reflux you can be prescribed rabeprazole like antacid drug
Head elevated while sleeping
