Is Extreme Nauseous Caused Because Of My Birth Control Pills?
hi! i am on birth control and i just started about a week and a half ago. everything has been fine, but at night when i lay down i get extremely nauseous. i haven t actually gotten sick, but the feeling comes both with food and without it. i take it at 5pm every day. some say this will go away, but others say to switch pills. do you have an opinion?
Commonly when you start taking the birth control pills you may feel nauseous, dryness in the eyes, headache, migraines, depression or yeast infections. While some people experience these symptoms others may not. Every patient is different & their responses to the medications may be different.
After a couple of days symptoms may go away by themselves, but if you are sensitive you need to switch over to some other pills which have lower estrogen levels. Progestin-only emergency pills are less likely to cause nausea or vomiting in comparison to pills containing progestin & estrogen. Take a backup BC pills before you stop the one which is causing you nausea, else you may become pregnant.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
