Is Fecal Incontinence A Sign Of Cancer In The Digestive Tract?
Hi.....I m very worried about my strange symptoms that have just started. I am 49 yrs. old and haven t been feeling well lately. My symptom is that i have been unable to keep my loose stools inside me. I will use the bathroom on myself if I can not make it to the bathroom. My mom died 1 year ago and used the bathroom all over herself, my dad took her to the e.r. and 3 days later after 2 surgeries putting in a colostromy bag with cancer all in her abdomin, she died at the age of 65 so I am paranoid at this stage.....I will be awaiting your answer in panic. XXXX
The issue of inability to control loose stool only (and can control hard stool) can be related to stress or anxiety induced sphincter relaxation and hyper motility of the colon. It is best recommended to consult your doc for primary assessment with per rectal examination and assess rectal tone to rule out any minor disturbances of tissue anatomy. If that part is clear, control of panic attacks and thought process will help to almost cure the issue.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
