Is Fever Common During AT Kit Medication For Lung TB?
Hi Doctor,My Wife has been diagonalized with lungs TB in May and has been on AT Kit medication. For last couple of days she is getting afternoon fever of 99.1 F which goes away in 30 mins and again in evening of upto 99.4-5 and goes away in 1.5-2 hrs. Is it OK to have this fever for the duration of 6 months of medication? Doctor mentioned that her Chest X Ray is all clear now.Please guide.

Hi,
Low grade fever is characteristic of tuberculosis infection. The fever would be controlled with control of infection. Only precaution is to exclude secondary infection by blood counts and sputum culture sensitivity test. You may need additional antibiotic, in case it's present. Please meet her treating doctor.
