Is Flight Journey Advisable 8 Weeks After A Open Heart Surgery?

I had open heart surgery on January 19th and have been on a normal course of recovery, office visits, cardio-re-hab and etc. Question has arisen as to if I can make a 1 hour airplane trip at 8 weeks after my surgery. Obviously, my cardiologist will have final say but it will be a few days before I see him.
