Is Fluid-filled Pimple And Soreness Due To Infection?
So a while back I had noticed a pimple like bump on my nipple and seeing the white fluid I had popped it as I had a pimple on there before. it sort of stayed for a while now without much fluid, now it is sore and cannot be popped but I do see the area of when I did pop it. is it just a pimple still, is it infected? should I worry? thank you
Hello and welcome to HCM, A fluid filled sore lesion in the nipple area could be a pimple, folliculitis, boil or an infected cyst. In case you are lactating, it could be due inflammation associated with lactation. Lactation is associated with lactation mastitis. Repeated touching the lesion and popping out can cause superimposed infection. However, clinical examination of the lesion is required to know the correct diagnosis. In case the lesion is infected, topical antibiotic may be required. A pain killer may be required to control the pain if it is associated with pain. You need to consult your doctor for clinical examination and relevant investigations.
