Is Foul Odor In Urine While Being On Antibiotics Normal?
Hi i had foot surgery yesterday around 3. K wire retrieval, hammer toe correction and plantar fasciotomy my urine has a strange smell to it. I wouldnt say its actually a foul odor just a strange odor. I figure its normal from the fluids and an antibiotic the gave me, its a normal hospital precaution

Hello.It is normal to have urine strange odor after hospitalization, fluids, antibiotic .... If you had increased frequency of urination, burning while urination, fever... it could be a UTI and you should go to your doctor for examination and prescription.

Hello,
Many of the antibiotics or their metabolites are excreted in the urine. Some of these give the urine new and strange odors. This would disappear after a couple of days of finishing the antibiotics. If it does not disappear, you should have your urine examined.
