Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a feeling a nausea with diarrhea for the last four days. I have vomited twice and can barely keep down any food. I have been sipping on water but that s pretty much it. I can manage to eat one meal a day now but I haven t had a bowel movement and it makes me concerned. Is this gastroenteritis or a possible cause of pregnancy? I took a pregnancy test which came up negative but the earliest conception was only about 10 days ago.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of nausea with diarrhea which seems to be due to infection by H. Pylori leading to gastroenteritis. Need not to worry at all. I would suggest you to ensure you are giving adequate hydration, oral intake and replenishing water to avoid salt losses. Visit gastroenterologist once and get it examined. You should go for complete examination and start treatment after that. Intravenous fluid administration is also recommended. Don't panic. You should give oral rehydration solution. Give combination of antibiotic along with antihistamine medication.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
