Is Giddiness A Side Effect Of Nitrofurantoin ?
Dear Doctor, my dad aged about 62years is undergoing treatment for urine culture and he is been prescribed with nitrofurantoin capsules niftran 100mg tablets which he is taking from yesterday - today he is feeling giddiness continuously for the past 30 min and is still experiencing - we are wondering is this because of this tablets? request your suggestion please ?

Hello. This could be a reaction to the nitrofurantoin and he needs to let his doctor know so he can be switched to a different antibiotic.
That said, this also could be an attack of benign vertigo from an inner ear problem so he needs to be checked for that, too.
