Hi, I m Anna and I have 10 months old baby who has a blocked nose. I ve got Otrivin nasal drops junior today but still can t decide about using them as it s written in the box from 6 years only while I ve seen online that they use them for infants as well. Are they safe for my baby? Thank you
Poor little guy, at that age a blocked nose can be quite irritating!
In general I think a good approach is to always try natural treatments and use medication as little as possible. Ususally using saline (salt water) spray that you can purchase at any pharmacy will be effective. Using nasal suction bulbs can also be helpful to remove any obstructing mucus.
It is ususally recommended NOT to use sprays or drops containing medication at this age. Although rare - there can be side effects, and usually the saline/suction treatment works well.
