I just had my tonsils removed 15 days ago and the last three days I started clearing green mucus out of throat and blowing green mucus out of nose and I'm just want to know if this is normal or if I should go see my ENT doctor or just my regular doctor.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain green mucous from nose and throat after Tonsillectomy are not normal and seems to be due to bacterial infection..
I would suggest you to consult your treating Surgeon and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis..
In case if there is infection he will advise you a course of antibiotics like Amoxicillin or Levofloxacin ,anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen and warm saline gargles.. You can also use saline nasal spray to drain mucous easily from now.. Avoid chilled and spicy foods.
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
