Is Hairfall And Weightgain Normal While Being On Levothyroxine?

I have hypothyroidism. I have been on a low dose of levothyroxine for about 4 or 5 yrs . I am losing my hair in a pretty good amount . My mother just dyed my hair for the 1st time in a year and she can t believe how thin my hair is . She must have said how surprised she was 5 times. IXve gained 29 pounds in the last 3 mths. I am on Sonata 1 before bed and one when I wake up about 4 hrs later. This is because I can t sleep. Can you tell me what eelse I should look for in the case of maybe my hypo. Is in need of maybe a hire dose or what else u think it can be ?

The dose of levothyroxine you are on may be too low. The symptoms you are describing are consistent with hypothyroidism. That would be the first thing I would think of. You need to see your doctor and get your thyroid levels checked. This should be done on at least a yearly basis and whenever your symptoms change. Start there before considering any other conditions. Hope this helps.
