Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My resting heart rate was 96 when im hospital last Fri (severe back pain resulting in emergency mri to rule out cauda equina) all other obs were within normal limits. Im a 33 year old female, 5 6 and overweight at 12st13lb although working on that! Is my heart rate something to be concerned with? It was taken twice. Thanks
The normal recommended heart rate for an adult is between 60 and 100. So your heart rate is well within normal range. As you have mentioned you had severe pain, heart rate also increases in response to certain stressful conditions like anxiety, pain, anger, fear with to increased sympathetic stimulation.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Bhanu Partap
