Is Herpes A Sexually Transmitted Disease?

Dear Doctor, one of my colleage had herpes, until past 2 years he had occassionally blisters appears on the pennis and after applying oilment it goes off. Now it has stopped blisters appearing and his wife is diabetis and monthly she had a abdominal pain. After consulting with doctor they always determines that there are some infection in urine or crystel found and prescreibes some tablets. but story never end this pain comes monthly. My question is, if this happens because of herpes my friend had and that is the effect of injecting his sexual sperm into vegina ? why she is suffering from abdominal pain? they frequently make sexual contacts. kindly advise.

HI
Thank for asking to HCM
I really appreciate your concern and let me tell you that herpes is viral disease and this is contagious infection some time if the person is immunecompromise then chances of infection is likely, with the history of coitus the chances of infection is high due to close contact, the abdominal pain is not due to the Herpes, take care and have a nice day.
