High blood pressure is the disease of Blood Vessels secondary to aging process, or constituents of blood e.g. high cholestrol and other raised lipid profile, uric acid etc. This result in narrowing of the lumen due to thickening of the arterial walls.
Bacause of the above reason the heart has to pump at faster rate and exert more resulting in heart disease.
Please remember the coronaries/ blood vessels of heart are also affected and a fatal out come can take place.

Hypertension is no the heart disease but if it is not controlled may give rise to heart disease.
Uncontrolled high bp may give rise to work load on the heart to work more and high pressure to heart leading to heart disease.
Factors affecting to high bp also has effect on heart too.
