Is Hilar Lymphadenopathy In The Lungs A Serious Condition?
I recently had a CTSCN, results show i have Hilar adenopathy. I have lost a few pounds lately. Also, I have felt very weak and lack energy. I am supposed to make a follow up with a Pulmonary Specialist for bronchoscopic biopsy of increasing hilar adenopathy. The hospitalist tried to down play it as though it is likely nothing, but, my research indicates that nothing positive can be the impending results. Can you shed some objectivity regarding this matter?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Hilar lymph nodes are usually small in size. Large size along with loss of weight is a sign of definite problem. You must have biopsy of the nodes done to know the exact cause and then can follow the treatment as per the cause.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
