Is Hysterectomy Advisable For Thickened Endometrial Lining?
I am 63 and I passed clot about the size of a quarter. My PvP ordered a transactional US which showed my endometrial lining was 20mm. The doctor tried to do a biopsy but was not to get enough tissue to test because I have stenosis of the cervix. He now wants to do a end but I would rather do a complete hysterectomy and just be done with it. Please advise
Increased endometrial thickness may be due to both benign or malignant reasons. It is important to exclude malignancy due to your age. If biopsy is not possible due to cervical stenosis then diagnostic hysterotomy can be done. Hysterectomy can also be done after evaluation like patient's wish, family is completed or not.
