Hello,

Plavix is a medicine to prevent clots by preventing the sticking together of platelets. Your episodes of transient ischemic attack ( TIA) may have been initiated by platelets sticking together.

The medicines which come under Nonsteroidal Antiinflammatory Drugs (NSAID) like Alleve, Ibuprofen also have this anti-platelet property.

Hence the doctor cautioned you as Plavix and NSAID together may increase the chance of bleeding.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
