Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am confused. Having had tsi I takePlavix. I also have a bad back conditionsometimes it is nasty. I wastoldby mydoctorin NewvYork that I should only use Alleve ( which gives minimal effect) I tried iberfurmol and it was much more effective.is it so much more dangerous for me.?
Plavix is a medicine to prevent clots by preventing the sticking together of platelets. Your episodes of transient ischemic attack ( TIA) may have been initiated by platelets sticking together.
The medicines which come under Nonsteroidal Antiinflammatory Drugs (NSAID) like Alleve, Ibuprofen also have this anti-platelet property.
Hence the doctor cautioned you as Plavix and NSAID together may increase the chance of bleeding.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Noble Zachariah, Internal Medicine Specialist
