Is Ibugesic Necessary After Medclav And Frisium To Fever Of 99?

Hello! my daughter is only 14 months old and her weight is 8.65kg(last measured on 4 may 2014). from today morning she is running high temp. around 11.30 am today morning she had 101.8 f (i gave her 24 drops of crocin drops) and had convulsion. we sponged her as soon as we sensed her stiffness. after that her temp gradually came down to 97.6 f around 1pm. dr has told to give her ibugesic plus syrup. her temp is now 99.8 f. should i give her ibugesic now? around 1pm i gave her 5 ml medclav dry syrup(amoxycillin & potassium clavulanate oral susp i.p 228.5 mg) and frisium 5 tablet(1/2 tablet dissolved in water).

Pediatrician 's  Response
Thanks for the query.
It looks like she had history of Febrile convulsions, it is better to give only paracetamol every 4 to 6 hourly to control fever.

Ibuprofen may be given to the child if fever not responding to paracetamol or there is fever more than more than 102 F.

Some studies suggest that combination is better than than either drug alone for faster defervescence of fever and also for longer time.

Hope i helped you.
