Is Increased Fetal Movement, Cramps, Pressure In Vagina Due To Labor?
I am 33 weeks pregnant and i am dilated 1, for the last three days ive had a huge increase in fetal movement and ive been feeling these strong cramps that i can only describe as awful period like cramps. Also every time i stand up i feel this strong pressure in my vagina and lower abdomen and i keep feeling like im going to pee all over myself even when i dont have to go to the bathroom. Is this the start of labor?
Hi, Your symptoms suggest increased pelvic pressure and are perhaps due to the descent of the presenting part into the pelvis. This could form a threatened preterm labor and to avoid this, you need absolute bed rest with foot end elevation and monitoring of fetal well-being and observation for any sort of vaginal discharge including premature rupture of membranes. Any form of infection, especially pelvic infection, should be kept at bay. Please contact your health care provider immediately. Your doctor may prescribe steroid injections to enhance fetal lung maturity if labor is inevitable. Wish you safe motherhood.
