Is Indigestion A Common Problem In Old Age People?

Hi ,I’m a male 69 yrs. old . I’ve had 2 major heart attacks & 3 sm. One.
I just started having bad indigestion till the point I have to force myself to burp. I ate cottage cheese about 1:00 & a hot dog on a piece of bread. What can I do ,I’m afraid to eat. I ate a plain baked potatoe & water& I take Pantazole for my stomach.

Hello,

If you have had indigestion for less than a week then very likely you are having a viral infection. This is generally self-limiting and should get better in 5-7 days. Meanwhile, you should eat frequent small amounts of food and make sure you keep yourself hydrated. Try to avoid milk and fatty food. Soups, toast, some fruit and vegetables are good (try to avoid those that make you worse).

If no improvement in a week or you notice any worsening you will need to see your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
