Is Intake Of Levofloxacin And Citalopram Together Recommended For An 80-year-old Patient?
Are Levofloxacin and Citalopram compatible drugs? I took Levo four days wo Citalopram but my BP was erratic. So I ceased the Levo and returned to the Citalopram. Today I was told that I should resume taking both of them. I'm not wanting to increase my Pulse Rate. I'm 80 and I don't want to overwork my heart.
Hello.... Levofloxacin is an antibiotic whereas citalopram is an anti depressant. Levofloxacin has probably been prescribed to you for a short period of 5-7 days. So it is better for you to continue it for the prescribed period. Levofloxacin will also not affect your blood pressure. If you have been noticing fluctuations in your bp i suggest that you contact your local doctor so that he can evaluate the cause. Incase you are hypertensive and on bp lowering medications then a change in the dose or the medication may have caused that to happen. Hope this helps
