Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My nephew had worms about a month ago (I was not aware) and I shared eating utensils with him and touched things after him and probably put my hands near my mouth. I recently (about a week) have been extremely fatigued and I also notice my stool has a lot of little white spots in it. Could I have worms or could it be more severe? I also had some blood in my stool about a week abo, but that only happened once and hasnt happened again.

Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Divakara's Response
HI
Greetings from Dr.Divakara.P Thanks for posting your query.
Most of the worms lay eggs in the intestine and these eggs are passed out in the stools . If the hands of the patient get contaminated while washing after he goes for motions , these eggs of worms gets stuck to hands and through his hands it can enter where ever he touches ( his own mouth , food , utensils )
So looking at your symptoms , i feel there is a possibility of you contacting worm infestation from your friend. I advise you to get a Stool for Ova and Cyst test done and revert back to me .
Hope this information is useful to you. Any clarification feel free to ask.
