Is Intussusception Hereditary?

Is Intussuseption herditary?

My son is 5 years old and about every 4-5 weeks my son has horrible cramps, severe diaherra and vomitting. He always complains of stomach cramps. But everytime I take him to the Dr they always say it's a stomach bug. My sister had this as a child and was wondering if I was to say something about family history they might actually look at my child more.

intussusception is one of common causes of intestinal obstruction.. it has a familial predisposition.. the first symptom of intussusception is offen sudden, loud crying caused by abdominal pain.. pain is coliky and not continous but if often comes back.. other symptoms include bloody mucus with stool, fever, pale color, sweating, vomiting..
while the attack you should have abdominal ultrasound or abdominal xray to you child that will reveal abdominal mass..
