Is Irregular Intake Of Duoluton A Concern?

Hi.I'm 20 yrs old.I have PCOD and so I have been prescribed with duoloton (21 days) tablet for 3 cycles to regulate my periods by a gynaecologist.I was asked to intake from the 5th day of my period.I have done the same for the first two cycles.After my second cycle that was in january I took the tablet by mistake from the 3rd day and today (26/2/2017) is my seventh day still I get bleeding .Will it cause any adverse affects in the following periods.Please advise me.

Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Nothing much to worry and the bleeding is not due to the irregular intake of Duoluton. You can take Tranexamic Acid acid or Ethamsylate tablets to control bleeding. If the bleeding persist for long, you have to consult a gynecologist and get evaluated.
