Is Irregular Period Is Normal At My Age Of 44 Years?

I am single 44 y.o.I went to Dubai last 2015 of Dec. and then went to OB because I had no period for 3 months only spotting, and she told me to take Duphaston 10mg 2x a day for ten days. When I went back to Philippines, just this March 9, 2015 I took the medication. I had my heavy period from March 21 to 27. Then April 26 regular period not heavy. This May 20, just a day of period. Then this June I had no period again. Is this normal at my age? Planning to get married this year of 2015 and want to have a baby. Please advice. Thank you.

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understood the concern. At your age, hormone imbalances are usually encountered as the body is preparing to enter the peri-menopause. Since you plan to marry and conceive, I would ask you to check for onset of peri-menopause and if possible, opt for egg storage for future use since the antral follicular count is likely to decline at this age leaving you very less time to try to conceive naturally. I suggest assisted reproduction as soon as you get married after preliminary evaluation of the couple. Hope this helps.
