Is It A Matter Of Concern If Having Chest Tightness, Sharp Pains In Shoulders While Having COPD?
I am 46 yrs and have been a heavy smoke for over 26 yrs..I have COPD and a small 5mm left lung nodule which hasn't been checked in a few years due to lack of insurance. Lately having more trouble with my chest feeling tight , and sharp pains in both shoulders and collar bone area..my arms get tingly at times and neck get stiff...is this something to be concerned about or just signs that my COPD is getting worse...
Hi. I can understand your concern. Get a chest x ray done to evaluate your lung nodule. Possibility of bronchitis is more in your case. So better to consult pulmonologist and get done clinical examination of respiratory system and PFT (Pulmonary Function Test). PFT is needed for the diagnosis of bronchitis. It will also tell you about severity of the disease and treatment of bronchitis is based on severity only. You may need inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) Don't worry, you will be alright. Hope I have solved your query. Wish you good health. Thanks.
