I had a question. I m 19yrs old and I m a male. I ve always liked wearing thongs ever since I was younger I wanted to know if this is normal because none of my other friends wear them and I don t even tell them because I don t want them to think I m weird or gay and I m 100 percent straight but idk why I like to wear them and my friends think there gay I m not gay but I like to wear them they are confertable and I m scared to even wear them because I m scared someone might see them or my friends might see them one day on accident and I don t want them to make fun of me. And I m scared to tell my girlfriend because I don t want her to think I m weird which she probably would. So can u plz tell me your opinion because I m so confused about this idk if I should jus wear them or not or what can I do. Thank u so much
The act of wearing clothes of the other sex, called transvestism, is not uncommon in our clinical practice.
It could be a temporary compulsive act, or you could also be harbouring 'Gender Identity Disorder'. There are certain other differential diagnoses as well.
I would suggest you to visit an endocrinologist, and if required a psychiatrist. As you may well understand, the problem could be hormonal as well as behavioural. Please don't feel dejected, you have nothing to be ashamed of.
regards
