Is It Advisable To Administer Two Injections Together For 4 Days To A Newborn?
my baby is 19 days old. her weight is 3.1 kg only. she is having severe cold and cough for the past 10 days, our child docter suggested Taxim 125mg and Gentamycin 25mg injections for 4 days continously. my question is. is that ok to have two injections for a newborn baby continously for 4 days. does that cause any side effects to her in future. plz answer. iam very much worried.
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic. Cough and cold in that age group should not be treated with antibiotics whatever without proper investigations -especially blood culture. As such fever/ lethargy/ stopping to take feeds should be of more concern that just cough and cold in less than 3 months age group. I suggest you stop the antibiotics and get back with more information as suggested above. Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health.
