Is It Advisable To Consume Tablets Post The Expiry Date?

Hi I have 20mg tablets of Prednisone. The expiration date is 11/19/2013. Do you think its safe to take them now? My sinuses are so congested and my Otolaryngologist is out of town on vacation until August 4th. What do you think? Are the pills still good after 8 months from expiration date on bottle ? Thanks

hello,
expiry date does not mean that the total effect of the drug will vanish after that date,
it only means that the effectiveness of the drugs is for sure till that day and after that its effectiveness gradually reduced,
you can still take the tablet but there is always a risk that it might not be effective enough, it may also cause untowards problem...
hence i suggest you not to use that drug, especially steroids, that are very strong group of drugs...
