Is It Advisable To Stop PTB Medicine Due To Skin Allergies?

My husband was diagnosed of PTB in year 2009, he was advised to start PTB medication right away and he complied. After 2 mos after taking the medication, he developed skin allergies, during his follow-up check up with his pulmo doctor, he was advosed to stop taking the medication because the 2nd montbresult of xray is okay, meaning the scar did not grow bigger. Is it okay that he stopped the medication? What may happen if he didn't finish his 6 mos meds.Until now he is aymptomatic and based from his recent chest xray there is no changes from the previous xrays.

Hi,
anti tubercular drug started after diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis consist of 6 month regimn and out of which first two momth is given to decrease bacillary load and next 4 month for dormant bacilli after which treatment is said to be completed . Sucessful treatment showssputum negative for afb . When you stop the treatment in between bacilli will again grow and cause relapse ant it may be of resistant strain.
When there is complication with treatment then drug regimen should be changed but complete course should be taken.

Hope this ll help

Thanks n regards
