Is It Advisable To Take Cipro For UTI Caused By The Serratia Marcescens Bacteria?
I am a 49 year old male. I was having blood in my urine and went to see the doctor. He did an in office urine test and I have a UTI caused by the Serratia marcescens bacteria. He put me on Cipro. From my personal research on the aforementioned bacteria this is very rare for someone my age and can lead to a host of other serious health problems. My CBC and other blood work came back normal and now I have to get an ultrasound on my kidneys and bladder. I need a second opinion on whether my doctor is proceeding correctly. Thank you, John
You have to get an ultrasound done, if you are not showing any signs of urinary infection eg., frequency of micturition or burning in micturition or fever.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
