Is It Advisable To Take Metronidazole And Apply Foban Ointment To Genital Warts When I Have Noticed Greenish Vaginal Discharge?
Hi. I have noticed greenish discharge from my vagina since last 2 weeks however my pap smear test came out negative for high risk & low risk hpv but trichomoniasis vaginalis detected. Also, i have a group of genital warts at the opening of my cervix area. I am currently on 7th day of consuming metronidazole & applying foban ointment to the warts. I am also now on my 3rd day of period with heavy flow so i cannot see greenish discharge only red discharge now. My doctor suggested me to do RF wart removal after my period clears off to avoid infection at the area. My questions are:- 1) Can i do RF for wart removal after my period clears off despite still being on treatment for TV? 2) or should i wait until treatment for TV settled then only i go for RF removal? 3) let say if my period clears off & greenish discharge still present, can i still do RF wart removal? Will the greenish discharge causes reinfection & recurrence of the warts since the wart area is close to the cervix? 4) how long will i have to be on metronidazole? 5) is it okay to keep applying the foban ointment to the warts? Bcs after applying that area will be super duper itchy & discomfort for at least 1-2 hours.
You are having two separate infections namely Trichomoniasis (A protozoal infection) and genital warts-which is mostly due to viral infestation. The green discharge is due to trichomoniasis and metronidazole is specific treatment for it, which you are taking. For genital warts, removal is the preferred treatment. You can take these two treatments simultaneously or separately one after another. I think it should not make any difference as far as, outcome of treatment is concerned.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
