Hi, Pinom H contains Olmesartan and Hydrochlorthiazide. Combination of these drugs is prescribed to lower the high blood pressure in the individuals. Olmesartan is an angiotensin receptor blockers which lowers the blood pressure by preventing the angiotensin action on the angiotensin receptors thereby relaxing the blood vessels. Hydrochlorthiazide is a diuretic drugs lowers the blood pressure by increasing the salt and water output from the body. This is the drug causing electrolyte disturbance to the individuals. If the electrolyte imbalance is marked to significant level, the dose of the drug should be lowered. If the condition persists even after dose adjustment, alternate anti hypertensives are preferred over diuretics. Discuss with the physician for alternate therapy. Take care.
