Is It Advisable To Take Levoxyl With TSH Level Low?

Have Hashimotos thyroiditis with positive antibodies. History of this for 25 years. Also iron sat stays up due to hereditary hematomacrosis. Last blood work on 11/15 shows TSH at 0.02, normal T3 and T4. Doc says continue on Levoxyl .137. Continued exhaustion, can t stay awake or focus and eyelids stay swollen all day/night. Stopped all Levoxyl now for 6 weeks and symptoms continue. Should I continue Levoxyl with TSH so low. 6 month prior lab TSH was at 3.0 and felt great.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Your TSH levels are very low. Your Thyroxine dose should be slightly increased by around 12.5 mcg in order to normalise your TSH levels. I would suggest to check your TSH levels again and get a second opinion in order to alter your Levoxyl dose. The aim is to maintain your TSH levels between 0.4 to 5.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
