Is It Dangerous For An Elderly Person To Fly Having A Bruise On Forehead?
My father in law, aged 75, fell and hit his head this afternoon. His forehead has a bruise on it above his right eye. He reports no lingering ill effects but he s not the best self-reporter. He refused a trip to the ER. He is planning to fly to FL on Tuesday from PA -- assuming nothing overt happens between now and then, are there any dangers inherent in flying after this incident?

Welcome to HCM Hello, head injury should always be evaluated ,if a person has giddiness, vomiting ,drowsiness than the injury is serious he should be taken immediately to the hospital, there may be some latent symptoms which appear later so head injuries should not be neglected ,since he is flying and had an head injury, high altitude and head injuries are dangerous so it is advisable to take him to a physician who will advice him an x-ray to rule out injury also treat him for the bruise ,also give him some precautionary medication for the flight . He need to watch out for 1.Head ache 2. Giddness 3.Blurring of vision 4. Vomitting 5.
