Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi. My 5 year old daughter jumped off of a bunk bed Saturday night and when she jumped forward off of the bed, she struck her head on the ceiling fan (which was on at the time) and received a small cut on her forehead just below the hairline. I took her to the ER where they put stitches and gave a list of things to watch for and we were told to follow up with the pediatrician in 5 days to have the stitches removed. Well last night (Sunday night) she vomited about 5 or 6 times. I assumed it was a bug and kept her home from school today as a precaution, but just remembered that vomiting was on the list of things to watch for after an injury to the head. Should I take her to the doctor or be concerned? The vomiting started about 26 hours after the injury occurred and she hasn't vomited in the last 5 hours. She seems to be acting normal and talking fine. Thanks for any help!
