Is It Fine To Take A Dosage Of 200 Mg Of Depakin For A Nine Year Old Boy?
hi my son is 9 years he has myoclonic seizers comes in both of his arms still snly 2 seconds he is on depakin 200mg syrup and lametrogen 50mg per day istill see this 4 times per day . his weight is 27 kg, is it ok for him depakin dose is 200 mg 3 times day please tell me

Syrup Depakin contains valproic acid, dose of valproic acid varies from 10 mg/kg /day to 40 mg/kg /day. Side effects usually occur when doses in range of 40 mg/kg /day.
And the other drug lametrogen 50 mg is also ok.
I suggest you to wait for some more time as myoclonic seizure treatment takes time.
If I was treating you, then I would have waited for 2 months before changing to other drug.
