Is It Normal For An Infant To Have Hard And Pebble Like Stools?

My one year old nephew has been passing very, very hard light and white color stools. They are shaped like pebbles and don t even stain his diaper as they are so dry. If you pinch one, you still would have trouble breaking it. He recently started eating table food, but he had this problem even when he was on formula. I even gave hims spinach and it had no affect on the color. I think he should be checked by his doctor, but his parents don t seem to have a sense of urgency regarding this matter. Your thoughts?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Constipation is mostly diet related.
Give him plenty of fluids, fruit, green leafy vegetables, carrot.
Give warm water with honey first thing in morning.
With theae modifications if problem persist get him evaluated by doctor.
