Is It Normal To Bleed Around A Lovenox Injection Site?

Hi, I have a hyper coagulation condition, and I take warfarin. Recently I had a surgery procedure, and I was put on Lovenox to bring my INRs back to a therapeutic level. Today I gave myself an injection of the Lovenox, which I have been doing now for 2.5 weeks since the procedure, and a couple minutes later tiny pinpricks of blood appeared to be oozing from the pores around the injection site. Is this normal?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Dermatologic conditions are difficult to judge without actually seeing what the pinpricks of blood mean. Mostly, any injection causes some bleeding but it is pretty minimal and quickly reverses.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
