Is It Normal To Experience Difficulty In Walking After Having A Knee Injury?

I fell and hit my knee two weeks ago while in Spain. I have had difficulty walking. My leg is stuff but improving. I have an appointment at an Urgent Med Center tomorrow. I iced my leg and minimized my walking about. Fortunately I had a walking stick to assist my walking about. I m home now and resting. What next?

Hi,

It depends on the force of the injury and on your age and medical status, if you are older than 50 then possibilities can go for something related to bone injury and an X-ray can show what is going on.

If you are in good health generally and under 50 .then probably it would be joint structure damage that can vary from mild to severe like meniscal or ligaments injury.

Keep icing and rest and avoid flexing your knees while standing below 90 degrees.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
