Is It Normal To Experience Lower Abdomen Pain And Bleeding After Supracervical Hysterectomy?
I had a supracervical hysterectomy 5 days ago and am experiencing lower abdomen pain/heaviness which feels like the bladder area. My urine is coming out slowly and was cloudy but no pain. I have some bleeding but not too sure if this is from the bladder or vaginal. Is it normal to experience this after surgery?
I understand that you are having pain and cloudy urine. This may suggest a urine infection and may occur after hysterectomy. So a urine examination and antibiotic s may be needed. Also drink plenty of water to flush out the bacteria.
The bleeding may be from the remaining uterus, stitches site [ excess tissue reaction to sutures in some patients, quiet common] or urine. The urine examination will show if the urine contains blood. For the other two reasons a gynec examination will be needed. However it is not advised to do this so early as it is only the 5th post op day. You must consult your gynec and may need drugs like tranexamic acid to get it controlled. Most of the time it stops spontaneously after a few days.
So do not worry just visit your doctor and get an examination.
