Is It Normal To Experience Pain And Bleeding During Bowel Movements While Suffering From Hemorrhoids?

Hi there, ive suffered from hemorrhoids for almost a decade with them coming and going. The past year or so, they have gotten worse and worse. There is always blood when i wipe (bright red) and it usually drips into the toilet after bowel movements. It also coats some of my stools , like a line across the side of some of them. I also occasionally have what look like small clots that also come out. I am in severe pain when it gets bad, almost crying when i have a bowel movement. Is this normal? Is it just hemorrhoids ? And can anything help? Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Bleeding during bowel movements is normal while you have haemorrhoids. I suggest treating the haemorrhoids with an anti haemorrhoids cream for local application. I also suggest soaking in warm water. If the symptoms continue you should see a proctologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
